TSA Cares
Did you know that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) offers a free program called TSA Cares?
TSA Cares is designed to help travelers with disabilities, medical conditions, and other circumstances that may make navigating airport security more challenging. While TSA Cares does not provide a dedicated line or allow travelers to skip security screening, it can help make the process smoother and less stressful.
What TSA Cares Can Help With
Explaining the security screening process before your trip
Answering questions about medical equipment or accommodations
Providing assistance at the security checkpoint when available
Helping travelers who may need extra time or support during screening
How to Request Assistance
Travelers should contact TSA Cares at least 72 hours before their flight whenever possible.
You can:
Call TSA Cares at 1-855-787-2227
Submit a request online through the TSA website
After making a request, a Passenger Support Specialist may be available to assist you during the screening process.
A Few Things to Remember
TSA Cares does not guarantee immediate assistance.
Travelers should still arrive at the airport with plenty of extra time.
The program is available for both adults and children.
You can request assistance for visible and non-visible disabilities.
